BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Some new tech, intended to make traveling easier for flyers, has been launched by Boston Logan Airport. It allows people to check TSA wait times live ahead of time.

The time tracker launched at Terminal B was made possible by a partnership with Philadelphia-based company Zensors. Cameras are used to detect people's speeds while moving through lines, which then generates an estimated wait time.

Some locals, like Jean, were pleased with the new feature, letting them save time on standard or pre-checked TSA lines.

“I think it’s going to help a lot of people plan,” said Jean. “I come from Scituate, so I'm here early all the time anyway, but it’s still a great idea to give some real-time updates on how the line is going.”

While some are in favor, others, like John from Brookline, think it may take some time for people to trust the tracker.

“Anything that can help figure out when it's best to get to the airport could be really useful. Waiting in the airport is not many people’s favorite thing to do,” said John. “I think people would have to have confidence that this is really accurate for them to use it.”

The new TSA Time Tracker can be found on the Massport website and the FlyLogan app.
