BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — On the bricks of City Hall Plaza Sunday, with local and state elected officials behind him, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh expressed optimism about the future under a Biden/Harris Administration.
"I believe their election is good for Boston, and it's certainly good for America," Walsh said. "It's not just because the residents of Boston voted overwhelming in their favor, which they did, it's also because they understand who we are, and the challenges we face here as a city."
The morning after Joe Biden and Kamala Harris spoke to the country about their projected win, Mayor Walsh echoed the President-elect's victory speech calling for unity, and said that Boston should be an example for the rest of the country.
"We are diverse like America, and we have welcomed and celebrated that diversity and shown how to make it stronger," Walsh said. "We have a proven track record of working together as one Boston, and taking on the toughest challenges."
