Mayor Walsh Speaks To Seniors About Missing Milestones

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Mayor Marty Walsh gave an update Wednesday on Boston's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Walsh said he is sorry that high schooler seniors are missing out on prom and graduation.

"Don't let this pandemic take away this moment, and sense of achievement you have for yourself," Walsh said. "You've worked hard these past few years and you've accomplished a lot."

Walsh continued, "As Mayor of the City of Boston, and as a city, we are proud of you."

On April 21, Governor Baker announced all schools in the state would be closed for the school year.
