Mayor Wu Holds Inaugural Block Party on Boston City Hall Plaza

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston Mayor Michelle Wu held her Inaugural Celebration on City Hall Plaza Thursday.

The inauguration was a block party that was free and open to the public, with food trucks, dancing, face painting, and live musical performances.

"This is what Boston looks like. I'm so grateful to all of you for the chance to serve," Wu said during her speech.

Mayor Wu was sworn into office last November, but her inaugural plans were postponed due to surges in the COVID-19 pandemic.

A handful of protestors shouted at Wu after her speech, but were shouted down by party attendees.
