CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — An MBTA bus caught fire Tuesday afternoon when it was hit by an overhead power line.
The fire started shortly after 3 p.m. while the Route 72 bus was on Huron Avenue, the Cambridge Fire Department said.
Crews quickly extinguished the fire, and all the passengers as well as the driver got off safely.
The 72 bus line was experiencing delays of about 20 minutes after the fire.
Huron Avenue was closed between Reservoir and Concord Avenue while crews fixed the downed wires.
