BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The MBTA said it is enhancing its Spring schedules for the Lynn, Winthrop/Quincy, and Hingham/Hull ferries.
This includes additional weekend service for the Lynn ferry, "other enhanced options for ferry riders, and improvements to the customer experience," the T said in a press release.
Starting on April 29, the Lynn ferry will run 10 trips a day on weekdays, with some minor schedule adjustments from last year to better accommodate for harbor traffic. And starting on May 25, the Lynn ferry will add 11 new weekend trips.
Also starting on April 29, the Winthrop/Quincy ferry will run 13 trips a day on weekdays, with expanded service to the Seaport.
Finally, the Hingham/Hull ferry will run 32 trips on Saturdays throughout the season and 28 trips on Sundays between the Hingham, Hull, Logan Airport, Georges Island and Downtown Boston. On weekdays, 38 trips will run a day. Weekend service will resume on Saturday, May 25.
The T said the adjustments to the Hingham/Hull Ferry schedule are "to provide better service to riders, including a modification to eliminate an afternoon gap in weekend Hull service and efficiency improvements to the Saturday-only late-night trip from Boston to Hull, among other upgrades."
A one-way fare on the Lynn ferry is $7 (or $3.50 for reduced fare riders), $6.50 (or $3.25 for reduced fare riders) on the Winthrop ferry, and $9.75 (or $4.85 for Reduced fare riders) on the Hingham/Hull ferry. Tickets for all ferry services can be purchased through the mTicket app or with cash on board.
