BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Service on the MBTA Green Line’s D Branch will be suspended for a week starting Friday night, as work continues on a new infrastructure project.
Shuttle buses will replace service between Kenmore and Riverside stops starting at 8 p.m. on Friday, and going through Oct. 31.
No shuttle service will be provided at Beaconsfield. There’s also express shuttle service between Copley and Newton Highlands.
The shutdown is part of the Green Line Train Protection System, which includes implementing a warning system for train operators of an impending collision or speed violation, and deploying an automatic train protection function, according to the T.
The branch was previously shut down last month so crews could work on the project.
Green Line service will also be suspended between Park Street and Union Square, along with Medford/Tufts, between starting at 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 4 and going through Nov. 13. Shuttle buses will replace service between North Station and Medford/Tufts.
Service disruptions will also be coming to the Orange Line, Red Line, and the Framingham/Worcester commuter rail line in November.
There will be no service on the Orange Line between Forest Hills and North Station on Nov. 1 and 2, and shuttle buses will run between Forest Hills and Back Bay.
Shuttle buses will also replace service between Forest Hills and Back Bay starting at 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 14 through Nov. 16.
Framingham/Worcester commuter rail service will be suspended between South Station and Framingham from Nov. 1 to 2 and Nov. 8 to 9. Four shuttle bus routes will replace service between Framingham and South Station.
On the Red Line, shuttle buses will replace service between North Quincy and Braintree from Nov. 15 to 23. Commuter rail service between the two stops will be fare-free.
