BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) have released an official mobile app, MBTA Go, the agency announced Thursday.
According to the MBTA, the app features a user-friendly interactive map that provides real-time tracking on train and bus services at each station.
The interface is available in six languages: Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, and Vietnamese.
The goal of the app is to improve communications between the MBTA and local riders.
“We want riders—whether it’s their first time in Boston, or longtime residents—to feel comfortable using public transportation,” MBTA General Manager and CEO Phillip Eng said in a statement. “This app will be a great tool to accompany people through their trips and to keep them up to date as they navigate the system.”
MBTA is asking riders for feedback on the app and hopes to come out with new updates soon, such as add live crowding information and a trip planner
MBTA Go is now available on iPhone App Store to download and is set to be released for Androids in February 2025.
