BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A number of trains on the MBTA Orange Line Wednesday morning were disabled, causing delays, slow travel times, and angry passengers.
The MBTA said the delays stemmed from a train that had experienced a mechanical problem.
Some riders said they had waited more than an hour for the T. Passengers have been expressing their frustration on social media.
Spots were reportedly packed at stops north of the city, including Oak Grove, Malden Center, and Wellington.
Among those speaking out were Boston City Councilor Matt O’Malley.
The MBTA says that "regularly scheduled service has since resumed."
