BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — An MBTA Orange Line train reportedly filled with smoke at the Tufts Medical Center station on Friday.
"I thought I smelled burning," WBZ NewsRadio's Jon Palmer, who was on the train, said. "We looked back towards the other end of the car and it was hazy, we couldn't see it. Luckily the train was pulling in anyway, so the doors popped open awful quick and we got out, and everybody was coughing and running for the exits."
MBTA spokesperson Joe Pesaturo said that there were "no evacuations whatsoever," and that "the station is open and train service is operating."
According to Pesaturo, a motor malfunction caused the smoke. No injuries were reported.
