MALDEN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A man who's known to travel on Boston public transit with his pet rat in tow, allegedly crossed a line Thursday afternoon and was arrested for threatening folks with said rat at Oak Grove Station in Malden.

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Transit Police says the department is well aware of the 57-year-old owner of "Jerry the Rat," for the number of public disturbance calls he's been at the center of. During this most recent incident at Oak Grove Station, the man is accused of drinking alcohol and being belligerent when he was asked to leave.

As for Jerry's fate, the pet was turned over to Animal Control, police said.
