MEDFORD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — When Erin unlocked her car go to to work around 6 a.m. Tuesday, she noticed something peculiar. Her tires were missing—all of them.
"Down to the axles," she told WBZ NewsRadio's Kim Tunnicliffe. "They took the lug nuts, they took everything."
She was stunned, and called Medford Police. They told her Honda Accords are very popular cars for thieves.
"It's a 2018, so, not even two years old," Erin said. "I just got the car in November, this is what I'm dealing with now."
There's no garage on her street, so she has to park outside.
"They have lug nut locks that I'll definitely be looking into, but I don't think any solution is gonna be perfect," she said.
She's going through her insurance company to get the tires replaced at the dealership. She said it's scary knowing someone was right outside her window, stealing the tires while she was sleeping.
"It freaks me out, especially because there's young kids around here," she said. "It's really creepy."
Erin has a message for the thieves.
"I want my wheels back!" she said.
