BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The video sharing platform TikTok has become a source of comfort, humor, and information during the coronavirus crisis. Users stuck indoors have started posting videos of themselves cooking and learning TikTok dances. Medical professionals, who are suffering from a lack of protective equipment and even harassment on the street, have taken to the app as well.
Here are some of the videos from those working on the front lines during the pandemic:
- A doctor giving advice on whether or not to go to the ER.
- Some doctors have learned trendy dances in their down time.
- An infertility physician explains the limited knowledge on pregnancy and coronavirus.
- A radiologist saying thank you to everyone who has stayed home.
- As a bonus: here's a Tik Tok reminder on how to stop the spread of the virus, as explained by a hamster.
Wondering how you can help? There is a shortage of medical supplies across the country, and medical institutions such as Cambridge Health Alliance and Brigham and Women's Hospital are asking for donations. Local craft store, Gather Here, produced a face mask tutorial, along with a step-by-step guide that you can make at home.
