BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — If you’re single, but can’t quite figure out how to mingle, one local woman is here to help — for a small fee.
Chanel Connor from Dorchester noticed that a lot of singles struggle to get a date on the online dating app Tinder, so she put her marketing skills to work, and started writing Tinder bios for a living.
It all started when Connor launched a copywriting business. One very lonely single guy reached out for help writing his online dating profile, which she gave him.
"There's a lot of factors that go into it...once you get your matches, you have to turn that into a date," she said.
Tinder lets its users write a short blurb about themselves, which Connor helps them with. Connor's prices start at $85, and top out at $350 (for her "Premium" package) on the online marketplace Fiverr.
She’s now written hundreds of dating profiles for clients all around the world.
"Not having a bio is a really big mistake, because then it looks like you have nothing worth mentioning," Connor said.
Most of those clients happen to be straight men, looking for a female perspective.
"It's a lot of fun to change their lives... literally see them going from struggling to...feeling good in their own skin." she said.
