Merrimac Police Investigating After Woman Was Assaulted In Home Invasion

MERRIMAC, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Merrimac Police are investigating after a woman reported that she was assaulted during an invasion of her home on Saturday night.

Police said the incident happened at around 11:10 p.m. on Hillside Avenue when a woman reported that she was awakened by a man in her bedroom armed who was with a knife.

He allegedly threatened her with the knife and repeatedly assaulted her before she was able to flee to a nearby home and call police. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The suspect, described by police as a white male in his 40’s, is still at large.

Officials are urging residents to remain vigilant and report anything unusual to police.
