BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Patriots have traded Michael Bennett to the Dallas Cowboys just after the defensive end returned from suspension, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
In return, the Patriots get a 7th-round pick that can go to a 6th-round pick in 2021.
The suspension comes almost two weeks after Bennett had a sideline disagreement with defensive line coach Brett Bielema during a game against the Giants, leading to his one-week suspension.
A day before the trade, the Providence Journal reported Bennett said of his suspension, “I didn’t takeaway nothing. I got suspended. Lost money. What am I supposed to takeaway from that? I mean, there’s no love loss. It’s just how it is.”
