BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The post-holiday rush is in full swing as millions of Americans return home after traveling for Thanksgiving.
The Transportation Security Administration projects more than 3 million people will pass through airport security checkpoints Sunday, potentially breaking the record for busiest travel day in TSA history set on Sunday, July 7, 2024.

WBZ NewsRadio caught up with travelers at Logan International Airport, many of whom were coming back to Boston to wrap up their fall college semesters.
"It was an okay flight," said Aiden, a Boston College student from Atlanta. "I mean, pretty busy. I guess people are coming back from Thanksgiving break."
"It actually wasn’t too bad," said Nathan from Idaho. "We took a red eye, so we’ve been up since yesterday, but overall it wasn’t too bad."
Other travelers like Brian were only just starting their trip as they headed out of Boston.
"Haven’t gone through security yet, so the worst is ahead of me," Brian said.
And then were those with plenty of trip left to go. Oscar flew in from Detroit and was gearing up for a long bus ride to Amherst.
"It’ll be, like, four hours, probably," Oscar told WBZ NewsRadio. "It’s alright, though, I’ll just put on some football or something. I’ll find something to do."
