MilliporeSigma Adding 700 Jobs To Keep Up With Vaccine Related Production

DANVERS, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A life science company on the North Shore is expanding and adding jobs to keep up with the high demand for a vaccine related product they manufacture.

MiliporeSigma will be adding 700 new jobs at the beginning of the new year, as it undergoes a multi-million-dollar expansion at its production facilities in Danvers and Jaffrey, New Hampshire.

The company manufactures plastic bagging and tubbing products that are used by drug developers to make vaccines and other lifesaving therapies.

The company's interim CEO Chris Ross says their single use plastic products and virus filtration technologies are now being used by 50 different companies working on a Covid vaccine.

"The demand for our single use products and our virus filtration technology has been unprecedented as a result of the pandemic," Ross said.

Ross adds the single use vessels are very useful for the drug companies because they can do the filtration, the mixing, the buffer management, and the final fill solution for application.

Ross wants to thank his employees for working through the pandemic and keeping up with the high demand.

Anyone interested in applying for some of the company's manufacturing jobs can go to MiliporeSigma's website for more information.
