Suspect Arrested In Fatal Shooting Of Moped Driver In Milton

MILTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Milton man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a moped driver in the town on Saturday night.

Myles King, 21, of Milton was arrested in connection with the shooting of Marquis Simmons, 25, of Milton.

Police said Simmons was traveling by moped to the area of Belvoir Road at around 6 p.m. when he dismounted and was shot from a few yards away. He was taken to a local hospital for emergency surgery but did not survive.

King is expected to be arraigned in Quincy District Court on Monday.

In a statement on Sunday, Milton Police Chief John King and Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey offered their condolences to the family and friends of Marquis Simmons.
