EASTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Stoughton woman who had been missing for a week was found alive by police in a popular state park on Monday. 31-year-old Emma Tetewsky was reported missing by Stoughton Police on June 27, touching off a multi-department search.

Easton Police said they started getting calls from hikers in Borderland State Park at about 6 p.m. on Monday, who said they heard a woman screaming for help somewhere in the swamp.

Officers had to wade fifty feet into the water to reach the woman. First responders had to use ATVs to get Tetewsky out of the woods. Police say they think the woman had been trapped in the swamp for at least three days.

The woman was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
