DERRY, N.H. (WBZ NewsRadio) — That'sss not what you want to find in your bathroom.
Police in Derry, New Hampshire, say they have located the owner of a wayward python that somehow found itself draped over someone's bathtub. This rambunctious reptile stretches five feet long.
Across the border in Massachusetts, all species of boas and pythons, regardless of size, can be kept as pets as long as they are not on a rare species list. However, this does not include venomous snakes.
According to Mass Wildlife, the snakes that are illegal to keep in the Bay State are as follows:
- Any venomous (poisonous) snakes
- African Rock Python
- Reticulated Python
- All anaconda species
- Black Rat Snake
- Eastern Hognose

Underneath the Facebook post from police, the comments had less to do with the snake as they did with the bathroom in the photo and the joke potential.
"That's my ex! Who let him out?" the top liked comment read.
Still, the snake is back home with neighbors on East Broadway, slithering back with its family once again.
