FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) – Gillette Stadium got a very loud and very dirty makeover Friday for an event happening over the weekend.

The stadium is expected to house 12-thousand-pound trucks for Monster Jam on Saturday night.

Gillette’s turf field was covered with lot of plywood and more than 250 loads dirt to build the track in time for Friday’s practice run of the show. Bobby Hayes in on the dirt crew and says every place has different dirt.

“It bonds together good, but it hardly keeps the moisture in it once the sun heats the dirt,” he said. “You’ve got to fight to keep the moisture in it.”

By show time, however, the dirt should be easier to manage.

“About 5:00 the shade starts coming across the field and it helps us out a lot,” Hayes said. “So, it shouldn’t be dusty tomorrow for the show at all.”

Crews will start tearing apart the track at around 11:00 Saturday night. Hayes added that by Sunday morning, the show will have almost no traces of being there
