More Than 1,100 New COVID-19 Cases Confirmed In Massachusetts

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Massachusetts Department of Public Health has reported another 1,128 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Massachusetts, and an additional 8 deaths attributed to the virus.

The state DPH has confirmed 146,023 cases of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth, and 9,616 deaths have been reported among confirmed cases in the state.

The seven-day weighted average rate of positive coronavirus tests is at 1.5 percent, which is more than a 90 percent increase since the end of September. The state's average rate of patients hospitalized with the virus has also risen more than 80 percent in the past month.

According to Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center, the U.S. has surpassed 8.5 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, and more than 224,000 Americans have died of the virus since March.Massachusetts
