More Than 50% Of Mass. Residents Are Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported that over 50% of residents in the Commonwealth have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

The state's report on Wednesday showed that more than 3.5 million out of about 7 million residents have had either two of the Moderna or Pfizer shots or the single-dose Johnson & Johnson shot.

Data released Wednesday indicated that 3,520,075 people in the state are fully vaccinated, with 3,275,933 residents receiving both shots of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine and 244,142 getting the J&J vaccine.

Cambridge-based pharmaceutical company Moderna said Tuesday that their vaccine was 100% effective in preventing COVID in 12-17 year olds after the two week incubation period.
