More Than 500 New COVID-19 Cases Confirmed In Massachusetts

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Massachusetts Department of Public Health confirmed another 515 cases of COVID-19 Saturday, bringing the state's total number of confirmed cases to 127,832.

The state DPH also confirmed an additional 18 deaths among confirmed cases of the virus, upping the Commonwealth's COVID-related death toll to 9,178.

More than 2,200 probable cases of the virus have also been identified in the state, and there have been 213 deaths reported among probable cases.

About two million residents in Massachusetts have had molecular coronavirus tests to date, and around 126,000 people in the Commonwealth have been tested for antibodies.

According to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center, the U.S. has confirmed more than 7.1 million cases of COVID-19, and more than 204,000 Americans have died of the virus since March.
