BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Sunday is September 1, which means many are celebrating Allston Christmas.
Apartment leases turned over Sunday for thousands of college students in the Great Boston area. Streets in Allston filled up with unwanted furniture that became up for the taking.
Bargain hunters began their day early. Among them was CJ, who worked with Boston Food Not Bombs and was looking for cooking supplies.
“There are some pans over there, I’ll probably take a look at that. Cleaning supplies are always helpful. I probably wouldn’t take any food spices, that’s kind of sketchy to get off the street,” CJ said.
For participators, Allston Christmas brought limited parking and increased traffic to the neighborhood.
