BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The start of September means one thing in Boston: moving madness.
Thousands of students and residents moved into their new rooms and apartments Sunday, turning Boston into an ocean of trucks, vans, and parking permits.

"You know, it’s tough. Everyone moves in on the same day, but you just have to fight," one man in Allston told WBZ NewsRadio.
Tenants hauled their stuff inside while city inspectors made sure utilities and building specifications were up to snuff.
"It’s not raining, it’s not too hot outside. It’s as good as a Boston move-in day as you’re gonna get," said one woman.
As if the streets weren't busy enough with double parked cars and hazard lights, there were also plenty of knickknacks and old furniture sitting on the curb for Allston Christmas.
"I found a full Xbox 360," one lucky guy said.
"I saw a little girl yesterday jumping up and down and, like, rolling on one of the mattresses someone left on the street. So I was like, I hope she gets her vaccines soon," laughed one woman.
Thankfully, the people who spoke with WBZ NewsRadio knew to keep their trucks off Storrow Drive, Memorial Drive, and Soldiers Field Road.
"Getting Storrowed, that’s not going to happen to me," one man said. "I’ll let the people that don’t have any local knowledge deal with that. Not on my watch, for sure."
"No Storrow Drive moving trucks, no I learned that many, many years ago when I went here. I don’t want to talk about it," another man said.
