PEABODY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Trash bins on the North Shore are a lot cleaner thanks to childhood friends turned business partners.
Fritz Bonaventure and Michael Tango are co-owners of the pressure-washing business Mr. Bintastic. The two started the business about a year ago, but they have known each other for years.
“We’ve been friends since the seventh grade and here we are at 40 years old now, so it’s been quite some time,” said Bonaventure.
“What’s even better is our kids are best friends as well, so it truly is a family business,” said Tango.
Mr. Bintastic is a mobile pressure-washing trailer that can clean graffiti, driveways, bleachers and trash cans. They said keeping trash bins clean of things like grime, muck, “trash juice and the smell” can help keep animals out of your bins.
“As the water is spraying out, it’s twisting 360 degrees and you’re getting about five nozzles of 4,000 PSI water hitting the trash barrels,” said Bonaventure.
“Basically, we have 200-degree [hot] water to kill all the bacteria inside the bins and outside of the bins,” said Tango.
Right now, Mr. Bintastic has over 60 monthly customers with the hope of expanding beyond the North Shore and Boston.
“We’re going to be in Boston today, Revere, Saugus and a couple of customers in Peabody as well. The majority of our customers have been [in] the city of Boston,” said Bonaventure.
