MSP Lieutenant Hit By Tractor-Trailer In Hopkinton Released From Hospital

HOPKINTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Mass. State Police say a lieutenant who was hit by tractor-trailer in Hopkinton on Wednesday has been released from the hospital and will be on injured leave.

The MSP lieutenant was outside of the cruiser at the time, and was observing another tractor-trailer in the breakdown lane with a smoking tire. The second tractor-trailer then drove by, side-swiping the lieutenant and his unmarked cruiser. The driver of the truck then fled the scene.

The cruiser's rear driver's side door was damaged by the lieutenant being pushed into it.

Mass. State Police released new video of the second tractor-trailer on their Facebook page Wednesday night.
