METHUEN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — After announcing they would hold a fee-waived adoption event for some of their horses due to capacity issues, Nevins Farm in Methuen received an influx of people ready to adopt a horse before the event even began.
The farm took on over 300 animals that are currently evidence in law enforcement investigations, meaning the animals would have to live out the rest of their lives on the homestead.

Despite plans for the adoption event to be held on both days this weekend, the farm is changing the date to Saturday, Jan. 31 only. Those interested in adopting will have the option of two available horses, Samba and Barnaby.

Adoption fees that would usually cost between $300-$1500 are still waived during the weekend event, as the farm continues to encourage people to adopt.
No appointments are necessary, and photos of the enclosure, shelter, or boarding facility for the horse should be provided by those wanting to adopt.
More information on the event can be found on the MSPCA website here.
