BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) – A growing number of Massachusetts colleges and universities are taking extra precautions as classes resume next year.

Boston University is the latest institution to require Covid-19 booster shots for people on campus.

“We will require all members of our community—students, faculty, staff, and affiliates—who are eligible (six months past completing their initial Moderna or Pfizer vaccination; two months past the Johnson & Johnson vaccination) to demonstrate that you have had the booster shot by February 4 (or as soon as your eligibility allows),” the school wrote on their website.

Other schools requiring boosters ahead of the spring semester include Bentley College, Emerson College, Northeastern University and UMass Amherst.
