BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Massachusetts was among the States affected by a nationwide RMV system outage on Thursday.
According to MassDOT employees, a problem with their verification system left customers unable to use online or in-person license or ID processing.
While the issue has since been resolved, it hasn’t stopped residents from getting upset over unforeseen rescheduling.
“They just told us the machine was down and that they would have to schedule an appointment, so for me to go up there, tell them what I'm looking for, and they’ll schedule me an appointment,” said one Boston local. “It took all that time just to get to the top of the line.”
While long waits and rescheduling are annoying most, some are trying to keep their cool, despite having made multiple trips.
“So I went, came back, spoke to her now, and she told me it was out for the day, so I should come back on Monday,” said another resident.
While some got through with paperwork that didn’t require ID or license processing, others have seen the outages as an annual incident.
“I really don’t know personally what’s going on, but this is kind of like been going on for a while, on and off,” said one Bostonian.
