NATICK, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Gabriel Ha takes savings at the grocery store very seriously, and he wants to share the savings with everyone else.

"I've always been one for trying to be frugal and there's admittedly a bit of pride in knowing you got the best deal," Ha told WBZ NewsRadio.

Ha recently launched his new app Grocer Save. It looks at the prices for different items at the grocery store and compares them across all stores in the Natick area to tell shoppers where they can get the best deal. But how did he get all the prices for each store?

"I can't tell you how many hours I spent trying to go to grocery stores and get information," Ha said. "I started building up an Excel spreadsheet on my laptop and realized very quickly that there's got to be a better way to do this than lugging my laptop around a grocery store."

From there, the Grocer Save app was born. It's been out on the market for over a week now and it updates its prices based on crowdsourcing by other users. He said he hopes to expand it beyond just the Natick area one day.

"It would be fantastic to see this deployed someday nationwide," Ha said.

Grocer Save is available for free in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
