SAUGUS, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Monday afternoon at the Square One Mall in Saugus celebrating the new home of a Boys and Girls Club Teen Center.
It's called 'The Club,' and is the result of funding from the federal government and the efforts of Congressman Seth Moulton who helped secure the $900,000 needed to build the center.
The CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Metro North Adam Rodgers was at the ceremony talking about the benefits of the new center. "It's really a space for teens all the way up to young adults to come in and experience the great programs and great opportunities to learn new skills and grow," he said.
Joining Rodgers at the ribbon-cutting was Congressman Moulton.
Rodgers added that The Club features a recording studio, an e-sports gaming center, and an art studio.
And, Rogers said, the center is conveniently located in a mall, a favored hangout for young people.
