SOMERVILLE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Somerville is holding an eight-week clown class at The Rockwell in Davis Square.
Instead of having red noses and big shoes, the class teaches people to smile and pushes them outside their comfort zone.
“They hear clown they think like, Ronald McDonald, circus clown, or they think of like horror movie, like… what we’re doing here today is definitely neither of those things” Gemma Soldati, creator of the class, told WBZ NewsRadio. “Like sort of ridiculousness, and learning about failure.”
Soldati's class holds countless silly activities to help people feel more comfortable in unfamiliar situations.
“You are exploring something that is like, so silly and so universal, like you don’t need to know the language of clown.” Debbie, a student of the class, told WBZ NewsRadio.
The class is available until the end of March, and tickets are $400 per person.
