New COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments Book Quickly Thursday Morning

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Just a few hours after an additional 12,000 COVID-19 vaccination appointments were made available Thursday morning, the state announced that all appointments at mass vaccination sites for next week have been booked.

The state cited “high demand and a very limited supply” as the reason for all the appointments booking so quickly.

Earlier in the morning, the state tweeted on their official Twitter account that “due to limited supply and a larger number of previously scheduled second-dose appointments, first dose appointments are no longer available [Thursday] for Fenway Park, Gillette Stadium, or the Reggie Lewis Center. Please check other locations for availability.”

The state is expecting an additional 150,000 doses per week until the end of March, after which the supply is set to increase.

There are mass vaccination sites located at Gillette Stadium, Fenway Park, the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, the DoubleTree in Danvers, the Eastfield Mall in Springfield, the Natick Mall, and the former Circuit City in Dartmouth.
