BOURNE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Would-be trespassers at the Cape Cod Space Force Station, beware: good luck getting past this guard dog.

The base has just received a delivery of robot dogs, which will patrol the perimeter of the station, according to the Space Force.

The dogs are built by Boston Dynamics, and are otherwise referred to as "unmanned ground vehicle," with capabilities to carry payloads that Asylon Robotics created. The "dogs" have a number of sensors built in to keep a constant eye on the base’s surroundings. They appear to be unarmed.

Space Force officials didn't give away much in terms of what the dogs would be doing, but did say they would "have a significant role in the safety and security of Cape Cod’s ground base radomes," according to a statement.

The robots will debut in 2024.
