BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (USBLS), more workers are staying put at their current jobs.
A new report from the USBLS found the number of people quitting their jobs in November of 2024 decreased to 3.1 million, which is nearly a two percent decrease from the prior month. The food services industry saw the largest change from October to November with 85,000 fewer people quitting.

WBZ NewsRadio’s Chris Fama asked workers if they have thought about turning in a two-week notice. Most said it’s not an option right now.
“I don’t have the money to leave. If I did, yeah, I would go,” said one woman.
“Right now, you’re lucky to have a job and get paid because what you see down the line is scary,” said one man.
One man hopes to see more remote job listings, so he can leave his current job.
“It’s probably because options have disappeared,” he said. “Working from home is not a bad thing. It sure beats what I’m doing.”
