BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A new, permanent Charlie Service Center will officially open in Boston next week, the MBTA announced Monday.
The renamed center (formerly known as the CharlieCard Store) is set to open Monday, July 29 at 296 Washington St.

The new location is between Milk Street and Water Street near the State Street Station.
The MBTA closed the old CharlieCard Store last year because of maintenance issues and opened a temporary location in the State Transportation Building at 10 Park Plaza.
T riders can visit the store to buy passes, replace a damaged or expired CharlieCard, add credit to a RIDE account, and other services.
