BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts [MFA] unveils a new exhibit with some of the 20th century’s most unique artists.
American painter Georgia O’Keeffe and British sculptor Henry Moore are on display at the MFA, featuring about 60 works from O’Keeffe and 90 from Moore. Assistant Curator Courtney Harris said this is a great opportunity to see what these two artists, who both drew inspiration from nature, have in common.
“It’s an opportunity to see two of the great artists of the 20th century in conversation and to bring painting and sculpture together and allow us to learn new things from those two media in one space,” said Harris.
Even though they worked with different mediums, Harris said the artists both turned their surroundings into dynamic abstractions.
“You learn a way to look at art that might be fresh for you, a way to see similarities between the two-dimensional and the three-dimensional, and to be able to look at space and scale in a new way,” said Harris.
The exhibit will be open to the public on Oct. 13 through Jan. 20, 2025.
