AYER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Matt Lucas and Terrell Wilson were in disbelief when they heard that someone was giving away a bar for free.
"We were like, 'Alright, this is a scam. This is never gonna happen. They’re gonna, like, ask for money at some point. No way this is real, no one just gives away a bar or restaurant,'" Lucas told WBZ NewsRadio Wednesday.
It was real. Restaurant owner Reza Rahmani announced a contest in May where the winner would receive Bar 25 Ayer and everything in it. Applicants had to submit a proposal outlining their business proposal, menu and logo.

"I think the cut off was June 1 and we learned about it maybe May 27, so we had about four days," said Lucas.
Despite the hectic start, Lucas and Wilson impressed Rahmani with the concept for their restaurant, The Ravioli Theory.
"International fusion is the word that probably best describes it," said Lucas.
Working on the theory that cultures have their own version of ravioli, the restaurant explores the common threads in different cooking styles around the world.
"So we take ravioli and if you adjust the flour and you adjust the filling there, you can kind of adjust, you can get to a Jamaican meat patty, you can get to empanadas, you can get to pierogis," said Lucas.
The new co-owners hope to open their doors by the end of the year.
