CARVER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — King Richard's Faire is getting a new home.

The 53-year-old Renaissance festival that moved to Carver in 1982 will now share a property with Edaville Railroad. Both theme parks have been purchased by the Delaware-based LLC, Lancelot Entertainment Boston. The new owners are looking to retheme and redesign the local staples.

Edaville, which started as a cranberry farming operation in 1947, transformed into an immersive locomotive experience but struggled financially in recent years. An auction hosted by Norton of Michigan Auctioneers is scheduled for April 30th to sell the majority, if not all, of the rides at Edaville Railroad after their February 19 purchase.

Vendors for King Richard's Faire confirmed that the new owners informed them their leases would not be renewed as they continue to downsize both operations.

Customers have shared their disappointment regarding the merger, describing the news as tough and sad to hear.

Lancelot Entertainment Boston, LLC purchased King Richard's Faire last year from Bonnie and Aimee Shapiro.

While it's unclear what the future holds for the King Richard's Faire property, all the rides must be removed from Edaville by May 15.
