New Study Reports Moderna Vaccine To Be 96% Effective In Kids 12-17

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A new study revealed that the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine is 96% effective among children ages 12-17.

The study included more than 3,200 participants who received at least one dose of the vaccine.

Moderna announced its findings on Thursday in its first quarter earnings report.

The Cambridge-based biotech company said that so far, the vaccine has been "well tolerated with no serious safety concerns."

Moderna is currently studying the efficacy of the vaccine on children ages 6 months to 11 years old; there are no further details at this time.
