BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The U.S. Postal Service is honoring legendary actress Betty White with a new Forever stamp.
The USPS said the stamp “will commemorate the warmth, wit, and charisma” of the late actress and comedian.
The stamp features White wearing a purple polka-dot blouse based on the 2010 photograph portrait of her.
It was illustrated by a local artist, Dale Stephanos, who announced this latest work on his social media. Stephanos teaches illustration at Suffolk University and runs his own gallery on Newbury Street.
The Betty White Forever stamp will be available starting on March 27 in panes of 20. Forever stamps are equal in value to the current First-Class Mail 1-ounce price.
White is often known as the “First Lady of Television” and is best known for her role on ‘The Golden Girls.’ She won multiple awards during her 60-year career, including five Emmys and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She passed away in 2021.
