Newburyport Brownie Company Issues Product Recall

NEWBURYPORT, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Newburyport dessert company is recalling more than 500 cases of brownies after a packaging mishap.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said some 2,000 trays of Chocolate Decadent Brownies and Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownies from Dianne's Fine Desserts left off a peanut allergy warning from the packaging. They brownies were sold under the brand name "Sienna Bakery."

Those desserts were not sold in New England, but did make the shelves in more than a dozen states including New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Florida.

The FDA said no one has become ill to date. It has published exact information on which brownies are being recalled on its website.
