NEWBURYPORT, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A new store that specializes in eco-friendly products has opened in Newburyport.
Sustain Boutique + Chandlery at 33 Pleasant St. focuses on sustainable and ethically made clothing and home goods. The store offers items ranging from candles and cheese boards to jewelry and dresses, even men's and women's swimsuits made out of recycled plastic.
"Consumers are really caring about where their products are coming from," owner Breanna Alexander told WBZ NewsRadio. "So after I found a handful of lines I fell in love with, I thought why not venture out and open up my store."
Alexander, who worked for many years in retail and social media marketing, could not be happier with the response from the public.
"The response has been amazing," Alexander said. "Newburyport has been so welcoming, better than I ever could have expected."
