Newton Firefighters Rescue Raccoon From Storm Grate

NEWTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Newton Fire Department lent a helping hand to a raccoon that got its head stuck in a storm grate Thursday morning.

"We rescue citizens both big and small!" the department wrote on Twitter.

Along with Waltham Animal Control, the department was able to free the juvenile raccoon and send it on its way.

"Always willing to help our 4 legged friends!" the department tweeted. "It was quite the operation."
