BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Massachusetts state police detectives have identified the body found in the Charles River Tuesday as an 80-year-old Newton man.
Preliminary findings did not indicate foul play in the man's death, detectives said in a press release.
A dog walker saw the body on the Boston side of the river just east of the Massachusetts Ave. Bridge around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
State police moved the man to the shore where EMS personnel determined him dead.
The man's name has not been released.
Detectives said a cause of death investigation will remain open "pending a cause and manner determination by the medical examiner."
