Newtonville Commuter Rail Station Closed For Repairs

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Newtonville Station is closed for repairs, the MBTA announced Tuesday night.

An engineering team evaluated the condition of the stairs leading up to the platform and determined additional preventative measures must be taken to ensure passenger safety.

Commuter Rail passengers are being asked to use the West Newton Station instead, and the MBTA is providing shuttle buses between the neighboring stations.

No timeline has been provided for when the station will reopen.
