BROOKFIELD, N.H. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The makers of Stonyfield Farms yogurt are pitching themselves as a breakfast alternative after months of high egg prices.

The dairy company is giving away 10,000 tubs of its yogurt this month to try and persuade breakfast eaters away from the daily omelet. The offer runs until February 11, but it's first come, first served. The company claims its whole milk yogurt has the same amount of protein as a medium egg.

Egg prices jumped sharply at the end of 2022, costing more than $5 on average for a dozen large eggs nationwide. It's worth noting that prices have since fallen down to about $3 a dozen since the new year began, according to the USDA.
